About Gerk Games
Gerk Games was founded in early 2026 with one conviction: browser games should be original, fast, and respect your privacy. We were tired of game portals that embed the same 5,000 iframe titles, wrap them in 47 ad trackers, and call it a day. Today, the site features 45 original games and 35 articles — all built from scratch, all under 50KB each.
Every game on this site is written from scratch by our team. No game-engine exports, no template market downloads, no third-party embeds. Each one is a complete original — concept, code, graphics, and sound — built to load fast and play smooth on any device.
Sam Chen — Operations & Content
Sam spent six years in digital publishing before co-founding Gerk Games. He ran the games vertical at a mid-sized media company in Singapore, where he managed a team of eight writers and editors covering mobile, PC, and browser gaming. His byline has appeared in regional gaming publications and he's spoken at two Casual Connect panels on game discovery and player retention.
At Gerk Games, Sam handles everything that isn't code: game concepts and design briefs, editorial direction for the blog, content strategy, compliance and policy documentation, and the endless spreadsheet that tracks which games need tuning. He plays every game on the site at least twice before it ships — once for fun, once with a notebook.
Tom Reeves — Engineering & Game Development
Tom has been writing browser-based software for over a decade. He cut his teeth building internal tools at a logistics SaaS company before moving into games. His technical background spans vanilla JavaScript, Canvas API, Web Audio, and performance optimization for low-end devices — exactly the stack that makes Gerk Games possible.
Tom builds every game on the site personally. He wrote the engine that powers the game grid, the build pipeline that keeps page loads under two seconds, and the custom analytics system that tells us how games perform without sending a single byte of user data to third parties. He believes the best code is the code you don't have to write — which is why Gerk Games ships zero external JavaScript dependencies.
Our Approach
We don't use game engines. No Unity, no Godot exports, no Phaser, no PixiJS. Every game is hand-coded in vanilla JavaScript on an HTML5 Canvas. This keeps file sizes tiny — most games are under 50KB — and eliminates the runtime overhead that makes browser games feel sluggish on mobile.
We don't embed third-party games. Every title on Gerk Games is our original creation. When you click "play," the game that loads was written by Tom, reviewed by Sam, and tested on real devices.
We don't track you. No fingerprinting scripts, no cross-site tracking, no behavioral analytics sold to ad networks. The only data we collect is what you voluntarily provide through the contact form, and we don't share that with anyone.
Location
Gerk Games operates from Singapore. Our servers are distributed through Cloudflare's global edge network, so games load fast whether you're in Tokyo, London, or São Paulo.
