About This Game

Idle Hero Legion is an idle army-builder. Recruit elite forces, improve your formation's combat efficiency, and send your legion to battle automatically. The army fights on its own while you focus on growth decisions — who to recruit and what to upgrade next.

Why We Built This

Idle Hero Legion combines auto-battler mechanics with RPG progression. Your heroes fight automatically, earn experience, and level up — you make the strategic decisions: which heroes to recruit, when to upgrade gear, and how to allocate stat points. The auto-battle system is designed so you can watch your decisions play out in real time, which makes each upgrade feel earned. The difficulty curve ramps every 10 levels, forcing you to re-evaluate your lineup.

Strategy Guide

Idle Hero Legion requires careful army composition management. Each hero type has a rock-paper-scissors relationship: Warriors beat Mages, Mages beat Archers, Archers beat Warriors. The optimal army composition is a 4:3:3 ratio of your strongest available types. Hero levels double their base stats every 5 levels, making level distribution more important than raw hero count. The prestige system awards Legion Tokens based on total hero levels sacrificed. The optimal prestige timing is when your progression slows to below one hero level per 10 minutes. Idle gold generation caps at 4 hours of offline accumulation, so daily check-ins are optimal. Each hero has a special ability that triggers on a 30-second cooldown: the Paladin heals adjacent units, the Necromancer summons temporary skeletons, and the Berserker deals triple damage at low health. Understanding auto-battle positioning is crucial — ranged units belong in the back row, tanks in front.

Play Tips

The 4:3:3 army ratio works until you unlock the Paladin (hero level 25). At that point, the best composition shifts to 3:3:2:2 for Warrior/Mage/Archer/Paladin because the Paladin's healing aura effectively doubles your front line's survivability. Position the Paladin in the center of the front row for maximum aura coverage. The Berserker (level 50 unlock) works best alone on the flank where its triple-damage low-health ability can trigger without friendly fire. Auto-battle replays can be reviewed to see which unit positionings result in the fewest casualties.

Technical Note

Technical note: the auto-battle system simulates combat in 100ms ticks, resolving damage, healing, and ability cooldowns deterministically based on current stats. Hero levels use an exponential XP curve (XP required = level^1.5 * 100). The prestige system stores Legion Tokens in localStorage and applies permanent multipliers to all future playthroughs.
